DESCRIPTION:Create your own handmade leporello booklet in this hands-on workshop with graphic designer Bani Mary. Through cutting\, folding\, layering\, and collage\, you’ll experiment with different materials and build a visual story that feels personal and tactile. \nYour leporello can be inspired by a memory\, a journey\, a person\, or simply a feeling – abstract or narrative\, the direction is entirely yours. \nBring anything that sparks inspiration: printed photos\, magazine clippings\, receipts\, packaging\, textures\, patterns\, or small objects you love. Together\, these fragments will become part of your own unique storybook.You’ll leave with a fully handmade leporello full of character\, texture\, and personality. \nBani Mary is a graphic designer focused on analog techniques and publication design. Her process starts by hand – cutting\, pasting\, testing\, and experimenting – before translating the work into digital layouts while preserving its raw and tactile qualities. DESCRIPTION:For our third MINO Friday Night\, we welcome artist and interior designer Arnetia Abbigail. Step into her vibrant and intuitive world for an intimate evening where abstract forms\, conversation and atmosphere slowly blur into one another. Expect an artist talk\, music\, drinks and familiar faces throughout the night. \nArnetia Abbigail’s work grows from a deeply personal and intuitive inner world\, where bold colours\, layered textures and abstract forms come together in compositions that feel both energetic and grounded. Influenced by her Surinamese roots\, her work subtly carries traces of culture\, spirituality and memory. Butterflies reappear throughout her practice as quiet symbols of transformation and connection. \nDuring this evening\, Malikka Bouaissa\, Homebase Programma Coördinator\, will be in conversation with Arnetia about her artistic journey\, the role of intuition within her practice\, and how her work moves between art\, space and human experience. \nHer exhibition will remain on view at MINO until 28 June\, with selected works also available through the MINO Shop. \n• Friday 12 June 2026

DESCRIPTION:Summer Program 2026\nMINO is excited to announce the open call for FOR THE CULTURE: an interdisciplinary summer program taking place from 7 August until 4 September 2026 in Antwerp. \nFor the culture comes from Afro-American cultural movements and hip-hop communities. It meant showing up for something bigger than yourself\, building collective identity\, visibility and cultural continuity. \nToday\, for the culture is everywhere. Across cities\, communities\, platforms and borders. Artists\, collectives and diasporic communities are shaping culture on their own terms – through art\, music\, fashion\, language\, rituals\, digital platforms and collective practices. Creating spaces to tell stories\, share knowledge and build community. Not because they are asked to\, but because they feel the urgency to. On their own terms. \nAt MINO\, we believe that this is one of the most urgent cultural conversations of our time. Who gets to create culture\, validate it\, claim it. Who shapes the narratives\, the spaces\, the infrastructure. These aren’t abstract questions\, they are what artists\, collectives\, community builders and communities are questioning and answering everyday. This is the space we work in. \nFOR THE CULTURE brings together artists\, makers and collectives around these questions through a multidisciplinary summer programme – exhibition\, public interventions\, screenings\, listening sessions\, conversations and participatory formats. Not to define what culture is\, but to make space for what is already being built. \nFOR THE CULTURE is an open\, evolving and experimental programme. Just like culture itself\, it will be shaped by the people\, practices and conversations that become part of it. \nWe see this open call as a collaboration and an invitation to think together about the questions at the heart of FOR THE CULTURE. We are interested in the fluidity of culture: how it moves\, changes\, travels and takes on new meanings across communities and contexts. \nWhether your contribution takes the form of an exhibition\, screening\, performance\, gathering\, workshop\, publication\, conversation\, intervention or something that does not fit neatly within existing labels\, we would love to hear from you. \nWe are not looking for finished answers. We are looking for practices\, ideas and perspectives that help us think through and respond to these questions together. \nWHAT TO EXPECT\nSelected participants become part of an experimental and collaborative playground where ideas\, practices and projects can be tested\, shared and developed. \nAt MINO\, we value process as much as outcome. We are not a traditional institution or presentation platform\, but a space for experimentation\, exchange\, trial and error. We welcome work-in-progress\, unfinished ideas and practices that are still evolving. \nFOR THE CULTURE is built on reciprocity\, generosity and collective learning. Participants are invited not only to share their work\, but also to contribute to the conversations\, exchanges and connections that emerge throughout the programme.
