SUMMARY:Create Your Own Mini Zine - Scrapbook\, with Bani Marynissen
DESCRIPTION:Forget the "undo" button and the sterile glow of a screen. This workshop is an invitation to get your hands dirty and rediscover the tactile joy of creation. We’re stripping design back to its core: cutting\, tearing\, pasting\, and experimenting to build a personal mini-zine with a raw\, scrapbook-inspired soul. \nBring your "clutter" with you; travel receipts\, favorite stickers\, old photos\, unique packaging\, or small fragments of memories. We’ll use layering and collage to transform these fragments into a cohesive\, textured publication. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind\, handmade zine that feels authentic\, gritty\, and entirely yours. \nBani Mary is a graphic designer who believes the best ideas start off-screen. Her work is a celebration of analog techniques and publication design\, driven by a process of constant experimentation. By cutting\, tearing\, and testing by hand\, she captures a sense of personality and texture that digital tools simply can’t replicate. Only after the physical work is done does she translate it into a digital layout\, carefully preserving the character and beautiful imperfections of the original. For Bani\, the "failed" experiment is often the most exciting part of the journey.

SUMMARY:Antwerp Art Weekend - MINO LAB Residency
DESCRIPTION:MINO LAB is a six-month\, process-oriented residency for emerging artists. Now in its third edition\, the program concludes with PROCESS: a glimpse into the ongoing work of Fareed Aziz\, Kadia Doumbouya\, Erlisa Çerkini\, Rabten Tenzin\, Arshvir Singh Dhillon\, and Charis Way-Way – developed through collective labs\, individual research\, and sustained dialogue. \nRather than a polished final exhibition\, it is a shared moment of insight. We invite visitors to engage with art as it takes form\, not as a finished product\, but as a living conversation between space\, material\, and perspective. By foregrounding unfinished gestures\, material explorations\, and emerging ideas\, the presentation rejects the pressure of a single theme. Instead\, it embraces plurality\, offering a constellation of practices that have grown during the residency on the artists’ own terms. \nPresented during Antwerp Art Weekend 2026\, this final moment of the MINO LAB residency opens the process to the public\, inviting visitors to engage closely with artistic practices as they take form in space\, conversation\, and material. \nOpening:Thursday 14 May\, 13-21uExhibition:Thu 15 until Sun 17 May\, from 13-18u \nAdres: Minderbroedersrui 55 – antwerpMore info on MINO LAB: www.minoantwerp.b

SUMMARY:Make Your Own Storybook - A leporello
DESCRIPTION:Create your own handmade leporello booklet in this hands-on workshop with graphic designer Bani Mary. Through cutting\, folding\, layering\, and collage\, you’ll experiment with different materials and build a visual story that feels personal and tactile. \nYour leporello can be inspired by a memory\, a journey\, a person\, or simply a feeling – abstract or narrative\, the direction is entirely yours. \nBring anything that sparks inspiration: printed photos\, magazine clippings\, receipts\, packaging\, textures\, patterns\, or small objects you love. Together\, these fragments will become part of your own unique storybook. You’ll leave with a fully handmade leporello full of character\, texture\, and personality. \nBani Mary is a graphic designer focused on analog techniques and publication design. Her process starts by hand – cutting\, pasting\, testing\, and experimenting – before translating the work into digital layouts while preserving its raw and tactile qualities. For her\, experimentation and imperfections are what make a design truly come alive. \nPracticalSunday 7 June 202614h – 16h \n📍Mino – Minderbroedersrui 55\, Antwerp
